The POE (Power over Ethernet) feature of the cascade switch supports up to three RMS-1005P units to deliver fast Ethernet for a distance of up to 400m without using any external powering methods. This delivery method of Ethernet in the last mile is cost effective & reliable.

The RMS-1005P is a managed switch that complies with SNMP v1/v2. When bundled with RealNMS RTS SNMP manager the managed solution is complete. The managed system offers Operations, Administration, management & configuration from a remote location.

Advanced Layer 2 Switching with PoE
RMS-1005P is a wire-speed, high performance non-blocking switch. The features include QoS supporting 4 different queues with four different traffic priorities to ensure the priority traffic moves faster through the switch. VLAN feature provides Partitioning of switching ports into virtual private domains. The product also provides effective broadcast traffic rate control mechanism that limits broadcast, multicast & DLF traffic to ensure the critical traffic moves through the switch without delay. The product offers Layer-3 IGMP snooping to facilitate providing video & multimedia traffic over IP. IEEE 802.1X port based security protocols EAPOL are supported for authentication purposes.
